Today I tried felting for the first time and I am completely addicted. WTF?

Delivered about four hours ago a kit from Amazon and a book about felting. I had a quick go while watching Inglorious bastards and got literally hooked straight away. I made a bear head then started making pom-poms. Love it so much I’ve ordered more woolly stuff and needles. Fingers suffered a bit when I kept missing the felt but that’s a lesson learned. This book is really good for me as a newbie to felting. It shows how to in pictures and details. I’m going to make a garland of pom-poms to perfect my technique.

Tilly and the Buttons Mimi blouse in Seasalt fabric

The Mimi blouse from the Tilly and the Buttons book Love at First Stitch. Took two days to make although I am a bit of a fan of hand stitching so it would have been quicker on the machine. Needs a wash and an iron then it’s ready to wear. I’m thinking with jeans maybe. Thanks Tilly. I love your book 💗💕 thanks Seasalt for the fabric too.

Cork rucksack project finally finished. What do you think?

Its been four days, a broken sewing machine and numerous cups of coffee but finally it’s finished. A huge ( bigger than I expected) rucksack in cork and cotton. Two big front pockets with magnetic fastenings and a flap lid. The lining has a zip compartment exactly the right size got my phone and purse. Metal rings in the pockets and flap as a bit of a design element. The pattern is from Lisa Lam’s book A bag for all Reasons (Amazon £14.98). The front pocket is the only change I made really. Pleased with the design and how it’s turned out. Not sure what I’m going to use it for but you can never have too many bags right?
